🎬 Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012) - Full Movie Review & Details
📖 Comprehensive Plot Summary / Synopsis
Ice Age: Continental Drift continues the thrilling prehistoric adventures of Manny, Sid, and Diego as they face their biggest environmental cataclysm yet. The story begins when Scrat accidentally triggers the breakup of the supercontinent while trying to bury his elusive acorn in the Earth's core.
The resulting continental drift splits the land, separating Manny from his wife Ellie and teenage daughter Peaches. Stranded on a floating iceberg in the open ocean with Sid, Diego, and Sid's eccentric Granny, Manny vows to find a way back home to protect his family.
During their oceanic journey, the crew is captured by a ruthless group of sea pirates led by Captain Gutt, a giant Gigantopithecus ape, and his second-in-command, a sharp saber-toothed cat named Shira. Diego quickly develops a connection with Shira, urging her to abandon the pirate life. After escaping Gutt's ship, the trio and Granny team up with native Hyrax creatures to steal Gutt's new iceberg ship and head back toward land.
The film culminates in an action-packed battle at the Land Bridge, where Manny and his allies defeat Captain Gutt's pirates, rescue Ellie and Peaches, and establish a new home together, proving once again that family overcomes all obstacles.
