🎬 Ice Age: Collision Course (2016) - Full Movie Review & Details
📖 Comprehensive Plot Summary / Synopsis
Ice Age: Collision Course marks the fifth installment in the beloved animated franchise. The story begins when Scrat, in his ongoing pursuit of the elusive acorn, stumbles into an abandoned alien spaceship buried in the ice. Accidental activation sends him into deep space, where his frantic attempts to secure his acorn alter the solar system's arrangement and propel a massive asteroid directly toward Earth.
Back on Earth, Manny and Ellie are preparing for the upcoming wedding of their daughter Peaches to Julian, a cheerful mammoth whom Manny struggles to accept. During their anniversary celebration, asteroids strike the surrounding area, forcing the herd to flee. Meanwhile, Buck, the eccentric one-eyed weasel, returns from the underground dinosaur world after discovering an ancient prophecy carved on a stone pillar that reveals a cosmic collision is imminent.
Guided by Buck, Manny, Sid, Diego, and the herd set out on a perilous quest to divert the asteroid using magnetic space crystals located at previous impact sites. Along the way, they travel to "Geotopia," a utopian community inside an asteroid crash site where the magnetic power of crystals keeps its animal inhabitants eternally young. Here, Sid meets Brooke, a female ground sloth who falls in love with him.
The herd must persuade Shangri Llama, Geotopia's spiritual leader, to help them launch crystal meteorites into a nearby volcano to launch space energy and deflect the incoming giant meteor. Combining teamwork, intelligence, and family bonds, they pull off a daring plan to save the planet, leading to a heartwarming resolution for Peaches' wedding and Sid's newfound romance.
